Year 6 Leaver’s Service

Year 6 went to their Leaver’s Service on Wednesday at the Leeds Minster. The Revd Canon Sam Corley lead us in a very poignant message about finding ‘Joy in the Journey’. That no matter what struggles we may face ahead we can always find joy. He reassured us about the days ahead and also taught us how we could manage those times that we were worried about. As we entered the Minster children laid down their stone upon which they had written a worry about going on to High School. During the service children from different schools across Leeds shared their school highlights and reflected on lots of fond memories they had across their time in Primary School. The Revd Canon Sam Corley captivated the children and encouraged them to be honest about their feelings during this transition stage. The children were amazed at the grandeur of the Leeds Minster and enjoyed looking at the architecture and the stained glass windows!
