Sports Update from Miss Wright

Footballers off to a steady start!!

Thursday 29th September 2016.

The year 6 football team headed over to Alwoodley Primary School to kick off their season with games against Alwoodley and Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School.

Allerton C of E Primary School v Immaculate Heart of Mary – the game started slowly but it soon settled and both teams played some very pleasing football with Immaculate Heart of Mary going into the half time break 2-0 up. Allerton however were not going to let this game go without a fight and within minutes of the re-start they had made it 2-2 and it was only in the dying seconds that they were beaten by a wonder goal- struck from the half way line. Final score Allerton C of E Primary School 2 v Immaculate Heart of Mary 3.

Allerton C of E Primary School v Alwoodley Primary School- Allerton bounced back amazingly well from the defeat against Immaculate Heart of Mary and even though the team were 1-0 down at half time the game was never in doubt and the team worked hard to get an equaliser before going on to secure the win with 7 minutes to play. Final score Alwoodley Primary School 1 v Allerton C of E Primary School 2.

Wednesday 5th October 2016.

The Year 5 football team started their season with an 8 goal thriller. The team entertained Moortown Primary School who came with only a win on their minds however Allerton were not going to allow that to happen and managed to secure a point with the last kick of the game.

The game was a well fought battle and both teams played very very well, with a draw being a fair result.

Year 6 Footballers suffer heavy defeat to Shadwell

Shadwell Primary School  5 V Allerton C of E Primary School 0

Girls Footballers get off to a great start!!

Monday 10th October 2016.

Allerton C of E Primary School 3 v Hillcrest Primary School 2

The girls put in a fantastic performance to run out 3-2 winners in their first game of the season. Sukpriya Flora and Phillippa Parkinson were solid at the back and Toni Barratt put in a great performance scoring a hatrick and sealing the win.

Alwoodley Primary School 1 V Allerton C of E Primary School 0.

The girls were really unlucky not to come away with anything as the performance they put in was exceptional, every player work incredibly hard and did everything that was asked of them but unfortunately the result just didn’t go our way.

Girls Football Dec 16

Close fought match sees Year 6 football team on the wrong end of a 9 goal match!!

Thursday 13th October 2016.

Allerton C of E Primary school played some brilliant football only to fond themselves 6-3 down at the end of the game. The team worked really hard and deserved more from the game however Highfield Primary School also put in a great performance and scored some cracking goals.

The team were unlucky not to come away with a point as they had plenty of opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net. The score line doesnt reflect how well the team played and I am sure they will bounce back in their next fixture.

Allerton score 9!!

Thursday 3rd November 2016.

Moortwon Primary School 4 V Allerton C of E Primary School 9.

The year 6 footballers put in a truly brilliant performance beating Moortown 9-4. The teams work rate, attitude and effort were brilliant and their football matched it too. Everything that was asked of them they did and they really showed what a good team they can be. Whilst the team lack a little consistency they are really starting to show improvements in all the right areas. A great performance by all – Well Done!!
