Monday 28th November 2016.
45 children took part in the Active Schools annual Cross Country event held at Cardinal Heenan High School. The course was not an easy one, however we had some fantastic results on the day with Stefan Robottom finishing in 13th place in the year 5 boys race, Cheani Williams finishing 11th in the year 5 girls race, Sian Bernard finishing 9th in the year 6 girls race and Sebastian Bryan finishing 10th in the year 6 boys race (each race had approximately 120 + runners). All participants should be proud of themselves as they were a credit to the school.
Football away day to Rotherham!!
15 Children from year 4,5 and 6 were selected to represent the school in a friendly tournament held at Wath High School in Rotherham on Thursday 1st December 2016. The children were chosen because of their attitude, commitment, ability and behaviour. It was a fantastic afternoon with both teams putting in some great performances. The children were a real credit to themselves and the school and whilst the results didn’t all go our way, the players worked incredibly hard and gave a great account of themselves.
Tag Rugby under flood lights
Friday 2nd December 2016.
Tag Rugby club has been a fantastic club to run this year with the children all giving 100% in every session, and it was a perfect way to end the year with them playing small sided games at half time of the Leeds Carnegie V Bedford Bulls Premier League match. 10 of the children formed the guard of honour at the start of the game and got the opportunity to walk the players out on to the pitch. We then watched the first half with great anticipation before the children were divided up into three teams to play some exhibition games on the pitch at half time. It was a great evening, and a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience playing under floodlights.
