Head Teacher’s Welcome

Welcome to our School Website.

Our aim is that you can easily find the information that you are looking for, whilst being able to celebrate what a vibrant, dynamic, busy and amazing place Allerton CE Primary School is.

2020 has seen a change in how we work as a school, due to Covid regulations and the safety measures we have put in place. Our focus on community, supporting and  looking out for each other,  has never been more important than it has been this year. During the January 2021 Covid 19 lockdown, we are providing on site education for approx 150 key worker and invited children, along with our out of school provision, holiday sessions and home learning for all. Staff continue to show great commitment and passion for our school.

A Church School

Allerton CE Primary is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled school. We welcome children from all faiths and backgrounds and those of none. We are privileged to have a diverse school community, with representatives from many cultures. This leads to a rich, colourful and exciting community. In 2020-21 we have just over 680 children on roll, with over 50 languages spoken. This includes a large thriving Nursery and all but Year 5, with 3 classes per year group.

Allerton Church of England Primary is a hard working, dynamic, creative and friendly school.

Our extensive school grounds enable us to plan many opportunities for learning, which have been enhanced by our Forest School Status. We love to garden, grow things, create outdoor sculptures and use our natural environment aswell as our fort, fire pit, ampitheatre, pizza oven, Multi-Use Games Area and more.
We aim to keep our premises up to date, with our own purpose built Arts space, Café/Cooking room and Nurture space.

Our building work was completed in 2019 and we are just waiting for the football pitch to settle and be marked up. We have worked closely with Leeds City Council, to design and plan our new Y4-Y6 classroom building, which has further enhanced what we can offer as a school.

We have invested heavily in our Early Years, with our newly built £110 000 outdoor area, which was completed Easter 2019.

Our Arts Mark Gold Status and Arts partnerships, enable us to provide quality experiences and provision for our pupils. Our Early Years provision extends from our 2 year old setting up to Reception. Come and see what is on offer, as the children are happy and settled and we would love to welcome you too. Our entrance is shared with the Alwoodley Children’s Centre, which is sited within the same building. Co-location has enabled really strong partnership working.

A Passion for Learning

We are passionate about learning and aim for every child to have a happy and active primary education in an environment that is caring and supportive. We provide a stimulating and structured environment in which all children are encouraged to reach their full potential. We treat all our pupils individually, developing their sense of worth and confidence and encourage unique talents to flourish in every child.

We want our children to really love learning. We want our children to be passionate about what they do. We want to work in partnership with you, our parents, as this is key to success.

Please look at the Gallery page, aswell as the class Blogs, which give an insight in to some of the work that we do here.

Having been Headteacher here since 2007, I continue to be extremely proud of what we have achieved and continue to build together.

I look forward to sharing our school life and work with you.
