Fareshare are the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste.
They aim to save good food from going to waste and redistribute it to front line charities and community groups such as schools. By taking part in this scheme we hope to:
- Remove hunger as a barrier to learning
- Highlight the importance of nutrition, well-being and the associated benefits linked to learning
- Highlight the vast amounts of wasted (yet perfectly edible) food across our local and wider communities.
Fareshare believe that no good food should go to waste and redistribute surplus food to charities that turn it into meals.
The food is all in date but surplus to requirements by the supermarkets. We ask that people think about what is on offer and what it would cost in the supermarket, but then donate as much as they can afford.
If you receive an invitation, do come and have a look. We don’t want to waste this food!
PAYF or Pay As You Feel means that we ask you to consider what you think is a fair price for the food you are buying, and leave us that amount. But we equally value you offering your time, skills and energy to support the project.
